Plitvice National Park – This is a beautiful park with lakes, waterfalls, and a blanket of trees. See the lakes up close with a long stroll inches above the water, on wooden plank walkway. Plus a luxuriously calm boat ride. Also visit the the Plitvice Caves. This one of several UNESCO World Heritage Site in the region.

Lake Bled and Bled Island in southern Slovenia. Near the Croatian border, Croatians and Slovenians vacation in this idyllic locale. This little church is on an island, in the middle of the lake, accessible by boat. The Interior is incredible! Don’t miss the museum and climb the bell tower for views across the lake.
